How do I update Examplify for Windows 11?

Answer

How to update Examplify for Windows 11 22H2

Examplify for Windows 2.9.6 to support Examplify users with newly installed versions of this latest operating system.

As a reminder, we have identified an incompatibility issue with the Smart App service included in version 22H2 of the Windows 11 operating system. However, this issue only exists when the version operating system is newly installed on a device, such as when:

  • A clean installation of the Windows 11 22H2 operating system is performed on a device
  • A device is newly purchased with Windows 11 22H2

We have prepared a new update of Examplify for Windows, version 2.9.6, to support Examplify users in these scenarios. Earlier versions of Examplify will not be supported and will fail to run on newly installed versions of Windows 11 22H2.

It is important to note that this does not impact users who upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 or users who upgrade from Windows 11 21H2 to 22H2.

You can share this download link for Examplify for Windows 2.9.6 with any affected exam-takers. This is also available to Exemplify users who contact our support agents and require updates. If you prefer all Windows users to be on the same version (instead of just the ones impacted), let your Client Success Manager know, and we can make this adjustment.

Please be aware that we have identified behavior in Examplify 2.9.6 in which the installation forces a restart of the device even when choosing the "restart later" option. All users will be required to restart despite the option selected at the end of the installation.

macOS Ventura

This is expected to be released in October 2022. We will continue to assess Examplify's compatibility with this version of the operating system update. We will send additional communication on our support of this version closer to the release dates once we determine our plans to certify support of this operating system.

In the meantime, please notify your Examplify for macOS users that they should postpone updating their machines until we announce official support for macOS 13 VenturaExemplify users should not install beta versions of this (or any) new operating system. The operating system versions currently compatible with Examplify are available in our Minimum System Requirements.
